Setting Up An SMTP Server

You will need the following information:

  • SMTP Server
  • SMTP Port
  • SMTP Username
  • SMTP Password
  • SMTP Mail From Email Address
  • Whether your SMTP servers uses an SSL/TLS connection (most do)

Adding a New SMTP Server

You will do the following:

  1. Click on Settings
  2. Click on SMTP Servers
  3. Click on Add New to add a new SMTP server
  4. Fill in your SMTP Server
  5. Fill in your SMTP Server Port (Usually 25 for no SSL/TLS, and 465 or 587 for mail servers using SSL/TLS)
  6. Fill in your SMTP Timeout (the standard is 11000)
  7. Fill in your SMTP Username
  8. Fill in your SMTP Password
  9. Fill in your SMTP Mail From Email Address
  10. Check the box that says Active
  11. Check the box if your SMTP Server uses an SSL/TLS Connection
  12. Click on Save SMTP Settings

Brilliance CRM SMTP Server

if you wish to use one of the SMTP servers from Brilliance CRM (usage fees do apply) contact support@BrillianceCRM.com and they will assist you in setting everything up.

Common SMTP Servers

You can use your mail server you use for your domain, or you can use a public mail server, like Google. These will require you to use your email address and password. Using your own SMTP server you will not incur any usage fees from Brilliance CRM. You may have restrictions based on which SMTP server you use. Consult with your SMTP email provider for their rules and restrictions on sending from your CRM.
